Rivals.com 2010 Top 100 Players Countdown

No. 1: Alabama RB Mark Ingram

No. 1: Alabama RB Mark Ingram
We continue our countdown of the top 100 players in the nation. We'll unveil the top player Sept. 1, the day before the season begins. 'Top' doesn't necessarily mean the most pro potential or even the most talent. It's what the player has accomplished and how we think the player will do this season. But production does trump potential.

No. 1: Alabama RB Mark Ingram
THE PARTICULARS: 5-10/215, Jr.; Flint (Mich.) Southwestern Academy
THE BUZZ: The reigning Heisman winner, Ingram could join Ohio State's Archie Griffin as the only two-time recipient if he duplicates last season's performance. He is powerful between the tackles and has breakaway speed. He used that combination to rush for 1,658 yards and 17 touchdowns. He had 21 plays that covered at least 20 yards.

Rankings determined by Rivals.com writers Olin Buchanan, Tom Dienhart, David Fox, Mike Huguenin and Steve Megargee.
