For this edition of The List, we’re looking at the best trophies awarded in “trophy games.” Starting Saturday, Boston College and Clemson will play for a trophy – the O’Rourke-McFadden Trophy, which features two leather helmet replicas of those used by BC and Clemson players when they met in the 1940 Cotton Bowl. Yeah, OK. The trophies we like best are the ones that have been around a while. Here’s our list:

GAME: Iowa-Minnesota

THE TROPHY: Floyd is a bronze pig and, really, how can a pig statue not be the No. 1 trophy in college football? The trophy originated in 1935, when Floyd was a real pig. Eventually, a sculptor was brought in and he created a replica that is 21 inches long and 15 inches high.
