Six five-star recruits selected in first round

Here's a look at Saturday's first-round draftees and where they were ranked coming out of high school. Six were five-star recruits, 12 were four-star prospects, six were three-star players, seven were two-star prospects and one was unranked (USC LB Clay Matthews, who was a walk-on and earned a scholarship two years after enrolling).

There were seven players selected who played high school ball in New Jersey, the most of any state. Texas was second with six (including three players from Dallas in the top 10), followed by California with three. In all, players from 15 states or Washington, D.C., were taken in the first round

Of note: There were zero players taken in the first round who played high school football in Florida, the first time that has happened since 1981.
