Although he will not play in the Senior Bowl on Saturday, Thomas was in Mobile meeting with several NFL teams and former Wisconsin coaches.

"Monday and Tuesday I was in Mobile (for the Senior Bowl). I had interviews and had a chance to meet with a few teams. Every team is down there. I saw some coaches that used to coach at Wisconsin. (Assistant coaches) Jim Hueber and Brian Murphy are now with the Vikings. Hueber was my offensive line coach when I first got to Wisconsin. There are a lot of connections down there.

"I spent some time with the Raiders, Lions, Cleveland and Tampa Bay. I maybe spent a half hour with each team. (How they conduct the interview) depends on each team. Some teams ask tough questions you might find in a business setting. Others just want to have dinner with you and put a name with a face."

Thomas remains enrolled in classes at Wisconsin during draft preparations.

I'm still in class. I'm enrolled in 12 credits. I'll need two classes afterward to graduate with degree in Real Estate.

"(Balancing classwork) is much more difficult now than during season. You don't miss much class when the games are on the weekend. Now all this stuff happens during the week with the Senior Bowl, the workouts, the interviews and the travel. I'm limited on the weekdays I'm in Madison. Most people don't take classes because of trying to fit in the schedule.

"You have to be upfront with teachers early. You're not going to be in class every day, but be clear you're dead set on getting your degree and - for the most part - they're understanding."

Last time we checked in with Thomas, he was still in the process of selecting an agent.

"I'm still working on it. It's kind of a hard process. You want to be comfortable with the person you pick.

"I came back Wednesday (from Mobile) and started working on finding a marketing agent. A marketing agent is more necessary for someone who's going to get picked in the first round or at the skill positions. It's difficult for your agent to do marketing. It's good to have someone local who has connections.

"(A marketing agent) does things locally trying to set up card signings, working with car dealerships, setting speaking engagements or appearances."
