At 1:20 p.m. ET each Monday, Rivals.com releases the 120 at 1:20, Mike Huguenin's ranking of every major college football team in the nation.
The top four teams in our "120 at 1:20" remained the same in the second week of our rankings, but there was a shakeup nonetheless, as two teams in our top 10 fell.
No. 5 Virginia Tech and No. 9 Ohio State lost and dropped eight and 14 spots, respectively.
How do we come up with the rankings? We take into account who a team has beaten and where, and generally take a "what have you done for me lately?" attitude, as well.
On to the rankings.
Mike Huguenin's 120 at 1:20
1. Alabama (7-0)
BUZZ: Sophomore RB Mark Ingram has emerged as a star -- and as a Heisman candidate.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Tennessee.
2. Florida (6-0)
BUZZ: The bad news: The Gators turned it over four times, allowed six sacks and forced zero turnovers. The good news: They still won.
NEXT: Saturday, at Mississippi State.
3. Texas (6-0)
BUZZ: The Longhorns got a big victory over Oklahoma. While it might not have been dominating, it still was a victory.
NEXT: Saturday, at Missouri.
4. USC (5-1)
BUZZ: USC's defense almost let the victory over the Irish slip away. True freshman QB Matt Barkley continues to impress.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Oregon State.
5. Iowa (7-0)
BUZZ: Florida and Texas won ugly? Hey, the Hawkeyes are the kings of ugly wins. And they don't care.
NEXT: Saturday, at Michigan State.
6. Cincinnati (6-0)
BUZZ: The health of QB Tony Pike will be a closely followed story this week. But if there's any game that Cincy wouldn't miss a beat without him, it's this week's.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Louisville.
7. TCU (6-0)
BUZZ: The Horned Frogs' biggest game of the season is this week, when they travel to play at BYU.
NEXT: Saturday, at BYU.
8. Boise State (6-0)
BUZZ: The victory over Tulsa wasn't as dominating as the Broncos needed it to be. And, yes, they are held to different standards because of the quality of their schedule.
NEXT: Saturday, at Hawaii.
9. Miami (5-1)
BUZZ: Georgia Tech's win over Virginia Tech was huge for the Hurricanes, who now have a legit shot at the ACC Coastal Division title.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Clemson.
10. Georgia Tech (6-1)
BUZZ: The Yellow Jackets basically ran the ball right down Virginia Tech's throat. And the Hokies couldn't stop it.
NEXT: Saturday, at Virginia.
11. Oregon (5-1)
BUZZ: Man, that opening loss to Boise State seems like about 20 months ago, doesn't it?
NEXT: Saturday, at Washington.
12. LSU (5-1)
BUZZ: Tigers offensive coordinator Gary Crowton needs to find a way to get his unit to become more productive.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Auburn.
13. Virginia Tech (5-2)
BUZZ: The Hokes' defense was basically powerless to stop Georgia Tech's offense. And that means national title hopes are gone.
NEXT: Oct. 29, vs. North Carolina.
14. BYU (6-1)
BUZZ: The last time a big-time opponent came to town, Florida State crushed the Cougars. They need to be better prepared Saturday.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. TCU.
15. Penn State (6-1)
BUZZ: Man, this is getting boring: Another week, another win against a cruddy opponent.
NEXT: Saturday, at Michigan.
16. Houston (5-1)
BUZZ: The Cougars didn't play well in the first half against Tulane. The second half was a different story.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. SMU.
17. Oklahoma State (5-1)
BUZZ: The Cowboys are in the thick of the hunt in the Big 12 South. Texas comes to town on Halloween.
NEXT: Saturday, at Baylor.
18. Utah (5-1)
BUZZ: The Utes are the forgotten team in the Mountain West. Why do we think Kyle Whittingham doesn't mind that?
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Air Force.
19. Texas Tech (5-2)
BUZZ: The Red Raiders blew out to a big first-half lead at Nebraska, then cruised from there.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Texas A&M.
20. Arizona (4-2)
BUZZ: The Wildcats' offense came up huge in a come-from-behind win over Stanford. The next two (UCLA and Washington State, both at home) are eminently winnable.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. UCLA.
21. Pittsburgh (6-1)
BUZZ: True freshman RB Dion Lewis has played great football. And, surprisingly, Bill Stull has become a competent quarterback.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. USF.
22. West Virginia (5-1)
BUZZ: How will the injury to QB Jarrett Brown affect the Mountaineers? The new quarterback is true freshman Eugene Smith.
NEXT: Saturday, at Connecticut.
23. Ohio State (5-2)
BUZZ: Purdue? Purdue !?!?
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Minnesota.
24. South Carolina (5-2)
BUZZ: The defense acquitted itself well against Alabama. The offense still is a work in progress.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Vanderbilt.
25. Oregon State (4-2)
BUZZ: The Beavers have a big one this weekend. Can Jacquizz Rodgers again have success running right at the Trojans?
NEXT: Saturday, at USC.
26. Nebraska (4-2)
BUZZ: The Huskers did not look good against Texas Tech, but they still appear to have the easiest road to the Big 12 North title.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Iowa State.
27. Oklahoma (3-3)
BUZZ: Good news for OU's offense is that Kansas' defense has been rancid of late.
NEXT: Saturday, at Kansas.
28. Wisconsin (5-2)
BUZZ: The Badgers have lost two in a row, true, but this still appears to be a team that could win nine or even 10 games.
NEXT: Oct. 31, vs. Purdue.
29. Boston College (5-2)
BUZZ: BC bounced back from a big loss to Virginia Tech by romping past North Carolina State.
NEXT: Saturday, at Notre Dame.
30. Notre Dame (4-2)
BUZZ: In each of BC's two losses, it has been held under 100 yards rushing. Can the Irish defense rise up, or will it be up to Jimmy Clausen to win it with his arm?
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Boston College.
31. Kansas (5-1)
BUZZ: KU's offense is good enough to win the Big 12 North; heck, it's good enough to win the Big 12. But that defense? It might be OK in a Pop Warner league.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Oklahoma.
32. USF (5-1)
BUZZ: A game against West Virginia follows Saturday's contest against Pitt. Can you say "annual midseason swoon"?
NEXT: Saturday, at Pittsburgh.
33. Ole Miss (4-2)
BUZZ: The Rebels are in the midst of a seven-game stretch in which six games are at home.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Arkansas.
34. Michigan (5-2)
BUZZ: It would be a heck of a lot easier believing Michigan was truly back if it could beat the Nittany Lions this week.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Penn State.
35. Central Michigan (6-1)
BUZZ: Dan LeFevour and the Chippewas seem poised to win the MAC West crown.
NEXT: Saturday, at Bowling Green.
36. California (4-2)
BUZZ: The Golden Bears awoke from their slumber and pounded UCLA. They should be able to do the same to the Cougars.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Washington State.
37. Michigan State (4-3)
BUZZ: The Spartans have won three in a row and will be out to wreck Iowa's perfect season this week.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Iowa.
38. Connecticut (4-2)
BUZZ: You don't think UConn defensive coaches might be a wee bit excited about going against a true freshman quarterback making his first career start?
NEXT: Saturday, at West Virginia.
39. Missouri (4-2)
BUZZ: Remember that 4-0 start and all the praise the Tigers were receiving? Well, that fast start is a distant memory and a third consecutive loss looms.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Texas.
40. Auburn (5-2)
BUZZ: All of a sudden, it's easy to remember these guys went 5-7 last season. Saturday's game is huge for both teams.
NEXT: Saturday, at LSU.
41. Georgia (4-3)
BUZZ: The Bulldogs got over .500 by beating Vandy. Now, they get a week off to plan festivities for the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.
NEXT: Oct. 31, vs. Florida in Jacksonville, Fla.
42. Arkansas (3-3)
BUZZ: The Hogs gave Florida all it wanted. Now comes the "Houston Nutt Bowl," and there might not be a bigger game on the schedule for Hogs fans.
NEXT: Saturday, at Ole Miss.
43. Stanford (4-3)
BUZZ: The Cardinal have dropped two in a row, and they seem to be teetering. Arizona State's defense poses a big test.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Arizona State.
44. Clemson (3-3)
BUZZ: Despite two league losses, Clemson actually is in pretty good shape in the ACC Atlantic Division race, especially if it somehow manages to win this week.
NEXT: Saturday, at Miami.
45. North Carolina (4-2)
BUZZ: Virginia Tech's loss to Georgia Tech means UNC has a shot at the ACC Coastal title. It's a long shot, to be sure, but it exists.
NEXT: Thursday, vs. Florida State.
46. Wake Forest (4-3)
BUZZ: The Demon Deacons have Navy, Miami and Georgia Tech as their next three opponents. Yikes.
NEXT: Saturday, at Navy.
47. Arizona State (4-2)
BUZZ: The Sun Devils were the beneficiary of a huge defensive mistake by Washington this past Saturday ("Hey, when there are 5 seconds left, let the wide receiver run free in the end zone and see if the quarterback can find him! Come on, it'll be fun!"). The run defense will get a workout this week.
NEXT: Saturday, at Stanford.
48. Washington (3-4)
BUZZ: Since that stunner over USC, the Huskies are 1-3, with the only victory coming against Arizona on one of the weirdest interceptions you'll ever see.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Oregon.
49. Navy (5-2)
BUZZ: Both of the Midshipmen's losses this season have come to Big Six schools, by four points to Ohio State and by 13 to Pitt.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Wake Forest.
50. Fresno State (3-3)
BUZZ: Two of the teams that have beaten Fresno are unbeaten (Boise State and Cincinnati). The other is Wisconsin, which is 5-2.
NEXT: Saturday, at New Mexico State.
51. Minnesota (4-3)
BUZZ: Hmmm -- it appears as if it will be another six- or seven-win season for the Golden Gophers. Wasn't that the reason Glen Mason was fired?
NEXT: Saturday, at Ohio State.
52. Kentucky (3-3)
BUZZ: Don't laugh, but if the Wildcats can play as well as they did at Auburn the rest of the way, they could finish with eight victories.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Louisiana-Monroe.
53. Tennessee (3-3)
BUZZ: The Vols hit the road for one of their four road games this season. We're betting the folks in Tuscaloosa are going to make life a bit difficult for Lane Kiffin.
NEXT: Saturday, at Alabama.
54. Florida State (2-4)
BUZZ: All the "Bobby Bowden must go" talk has died down a bit. But that's only because the Seminoles were idle over the weekend.
NEXT: Thursday, at North Carolina.
55. Mississippi State (3-4)
BUZZ: Bulldogs coach Dan Mullen used to be Florida's offensive coordinator, so you'd think he'd know all the potential weaknesses. Can his defense take advantage?
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Florida.
56. Rutgers (4-2)
BUZZ: Once again, the Scarlet Knights can lick their wounds with a game against an easy opponent.
NEXT: Friday, at Army.
57. UCLA (3-3)
BUZZ: That 3-0 start now is a distant memory. The offense looked OK against Cal, but the defense was overwhelmed.
NEXT: Saturday, at Arizona.
58. Air Force (4-3)
BUZZ: The Falcons' defense has been great; the offense needs to get it in gear, though.
NEXT: Saturday, at Utah.
59. Northwestern (4-3)
BUZZ: If the Wildcats want to go to a bowl, it would behoove them to beat the Hoosiers this weekend.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Indiana.
60. Idaho (6-1)
BUZZ: The Vandals remain one of the season's best stories; they're already bowl eligible and haven't been bowling since 1998.
NEXT: Saturday, at Nevada.
61. Tulsa (4-2)
BUZZ: The Golden Hurricane had a shot at upsetting Boise State last Wednesday at home. This Wednesday, they'll be on the road.
NEXT: Wednesday, at UTEP.
62. East Carolina (4-3)
BUZZ: The Pirates still look to be the best team in the C-USA East Division.
NEXT: Oct. 27, at Memphis.
63. Ohio University (5-2)
BUZZ: Ohio is in great shape to win the MAC East Division crown.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Kent State.
64. Nevada (3-3)
BUZZ: If the Wolf Pack have any hopes of finishing second in the WAC, they need to win Saturday.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Idaho.
65. Colorado State (3-4)
BUZZ: The Rams played Mountain West powers BYU, Utah and TCU in a four-game stretch, losing all three; now they can breathe easier.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. San Diego State.
66. Western Michigan (3-4)
BUZZ: With the MAC West title basically out of reach, Western needs to focus on getting to seven or eight wins in an attempt to nab a bowl bid.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Buffalo.
67. Troy (4-2)
BUZZ: The Trojans can't afford a loss to the Mean Green if they want to win the Sun Belt title.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. North Texas.
68. Northern Illinois (3-3)
BUZZ: Talk about fortuitous scheduling - NIU's next four opponents have a combined one victory.
NEXT: Saturday, at Miami University.
69. Southern Miss (4-3)
BUZZ: Beating Tulane is vital if the Golden Eagles want to legitimately remain in the hunt in C-USA East.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Tulane.
70. Virginia (3-3)
BUZZ: The Cavaliers have won three in a row and are in first place in the ACC Coastal. To be taken seriously, though, they need to beat the Yellow Jackets.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Georgia Tech.
71. Duke (3-3)
BUZZ: Duke in a bowl this season? It could happen -- but it means beating Maryland on Saturday is a must.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Maryland.
72. N.C. State (3-4)
BUZZ: N.C. State has this weekend off. Presumably, the Wolfpack will use the practice time to learn how to tackle.
NEXT: Oct. 31, at Florida State.
73. Purdue (2-5)
BUZZ: What's this -- an upset of Ohio State followed by a visit from Illinois? Hey, I smell a two-game winning streak!
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Illinois.
74. Toledo (4-3)
BUZZ: The Rockets remain in the MAC West title hunt, and they can put a big crimp in Temple's East Division hopes on Saturday.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Temple.
75. Colorado (2-4)
BUZZ: A victory Saturday and the Buffs can start thinking, "Hey, we have a shot at a bowl bid."
NEXT: Saturday, at Kansas State.
76. Syracuse (2-4)
BUZZ: Saturday's contest will be the fifth home game in a row for the Orange.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Akron.
77. Marshall (4-3)
BUZZ: The Herd are in good shape for a bowl bid, assuming they can beat UAB this week.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. UAB.
78. Bowling Green (3-4)
BUZZ: The Falcons face a tall task if they want to remain on the periphery of the MAC East chase -- they must upset the Chippewas.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Central Michigan.
79. Louisville (2-4)
BUZZ: There already are rumors floating about possible replacements for coach Steve Kragthorpe.
NEXT: Saturday, at Cincinnati.
80. Middle Tennessee State (3-3)
BUZZ: Saturday's game is Game 2 in a six-game stretch in which MTSU plays at home five times.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Western Kentucky.
81. Temple (4-2)
BUZZ: The Owls have won four in a row. Their defense will be the key to Saturday's outcome.
NEXT: Saturday, at Toledo.
82. Maryland (2-5)
BUZZ: Ralph Friedgen has been feeling the heat: Trust us: If the Terps lose Saturday, he'll really be feeling it.
NEXT: Saturday, at Duke.
83. Indiana (4-3)
BUZZ: Any bowl hopes depend on winning Saturday. After that, the Hoosiers play Iowa, Wisconsin and Penn State.
NEXT: Saturday, at Northwestern.
84. Louisiana-Lafayette (4-2)
BUZZ: The Ragin' Cajuns need a win Saturday to remain in the Sun Belt Conference title hunt.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Florida Atlantic.
85. Kansas State (4-3)
BUZZ: On Oct. 10, the Wildcats were beaten by 52 by Texas Tech. This past Saturday, the Wildcats beat Texas A&M by 48.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Colorado.
86. Texas A&M (3-3)
BUZZ: Isn't it amazing what one week can do. Last week, Aggies fans were saying, "Hey, we can go to a bowl." This week, Aggies fans are saying, "Are we this bad? And does Mike Sherman need to go?"
NEXT: Saturday, at Texas Tech.
87. Iowa State (4-3)
BUZZ: Can the Cyclones get the two needed wins to become bowl eligible? Not likely. Still, they won just twice last season.
NEXT: Saturday, at Nebraska.
88. Louisiana-Monroe (4-2)
BUZZ: The Warhawks play their next three on the road, including a Sun Belt Conference showdown against Troy on Oct. 31.
NEXT: Saturday, at Kentucky.
89. Baylor (3-3)
BUZZ: Robert Griffin makes a big difference. With him, the Bears had a shot at a bowl bid. Without him, they could go 0-8 in the Big 12.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Oklahoma State.
90. Arkansas State (1-4)
BUZZ: The Red Wolves have been a disappointment. Any shot at a second-place finish in the Sun Belt depends on winning this week.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Florida International.
91. Wyoming (4-3)
BUZZ: The Cowboys get Utah, BYU and TCU in the next month. That's three more losses.
NEXT: Oct. 31, at Utah.
92. Buffalo (3-4)
BUZZ: The Bulls seem likely to win five or six games at best. Will that be held against Turner Gill when schools are looking for new coaches?
NEXT: Saturday, at Western Michigan.
93. SMU (3-3)
BUZZ: How much progress has June Jones made in his second season? After this week, the Mustangs have the schedule to think legitimately about a bowl bid.
NEXT: Saturday, at Houston.
94. UTEP (2-4)
BUZZ: Despite the poor record, UTEP will be in the bowl mix in Conference USA if it can beat Tulsa.
NEXT: Wednesday, vs. Tulsa.
95. Illinois (1-5)
BUZZ: Come on -- does anyone out there think Ron Zook is the right guy for this job?
NEXT: Saturday, at Purdue.
96. UCF (3-3)
BUZZ: UCF's offense has been inconsistent, but it should get well against what Rice calls a "defense."
NEXT: Saturday, at Rice.
97. UNLV (2-5)
BUZZ: This week's game provides UNLV with its best opportunity to win the rest of the way.
NEXT: Saturday, at New Mexico.
98. Army (3-4)
BUZZ: Army's rushing offense gives it some hope it can pull the upset.
NEXT: Friday, vs. Rutgers.
99. Vanderbilt (2-5)
BUZZ: The Commodores appear destined to finish 2-10 overall and 0-8 in the SEC.
NEXT: Saturday, at South Carolina.

BUZZ: Starting with this week's game, the Bulldogs play four of their next five on the road.

NEXT: Oct. 27, vs. East Carolina.

BUZZ: The Aztecs have been abysmal running the ball, with four games with 55 or fewer yards rushing.
NEXT: Saturday, at Colorado State.

BUZZ: The Warriors have lost four in a row. That soon will climb to five in a row.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Boise State.
106. Kent State (3-4)
BUZZ: Kent State has two wins over FBS programs -- and both are winless.
NEXT: Saturday, at Ohio University.
107. Tulane (2-4)
BUZZ: The Green Wave played good for a half against Houston. Alas, Houston woke up and blew their doors in.
NEXT: Saturday, at Southern Miss.
108. New Mexico State (3-4)
BUZZ: So far this season, the Aggies have followed a loss-win-loss-win-loss-win-loss pattern. That means this Saturday should be a win.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Fresno State.
109. Utah State (1-5)
BUZZ: The Aggies' offense actually is OK. The defense is another matter.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Louisiana Tech.
110. Florida Atlantic (1-4)
BUZZ: The Owls are coming off their first victory of the season, a squeaker at North Texas.
NEXT: Saturday, at Louisiana-Lafayette.
111. Florida International (1-5)
BUZZ: FIU can't run (111th in rush offense) or stop the run (116th in rush defense).
NEXT: Saturday, at Arkansas State.
112. North Texas (1-5)
BUZZ: Each of the Mean Green's past two losses have come by four points. Can they keep it that close against Troy?
NEXT: Saturday, at Troy.

NEXT: Saturday, at Syracuse.
114. San Jose State (1-5)
BUZZ: You want to know one reason Boise State doesn't get respect? The Spartans are one of five WAC teams ranked 100th or worse.
NEXT: Oct. 31, at Boise State.
115. New Mexico (0-6)
BUZZ: Coach Mike Locksley is suspended for this week's game. Unluckily for him, it's probably the Lobos best chance for a win the rest of the way.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. UNLV.
116. Rice (0-7)
BUZZ: The Owls are last in the nation in scoring defense and 116th in scoring offense. Trust us when we say that's not a good mix.

BUZZ: If the Cardinals don't win Saturday, go ahead and mark down a 0-12 finish.
NEXT: Saturday, at Eastern Michigan.

BUZZ: The Eagles have scored a combined 26 points in the past three games.
NEXT: Saturday, vs. Ball State.
