QB Russell Wilson emerges as Pack target
Few players in the state of Virginia can match the athletic achievements or production of quarterback Russell Wilson from Collegiate High in Richmond.
As a junior, Wilson completed 205 of 361 passes for 3,287 yards and 40 touchdowns with just 11 interceptions. The 6-foot-0, 185-pounder used his 4.6-second speed in the 40-yard dash to run for 634 yards on 132 carries and 15 more scores.
But football is not the only sport where Wilson excels. He is also a tremendous shortstop on the baseball team, and right now the plan is for Wilson to play both sports in college, although a future in MLB could not be completely ruled out.
"The Major League is a great opportunity, but i wouldn't want to make a decision of not going to college, unless there was a ton of money on the table for my family's support," Wilson said. "I'm talented in both sports, and I don't want to give up on a sport quite yet when I feel like I could have a future in both if I keep working hard at them."
