Trojans never could quite put away Washington. Next: vs. Stanford.
2. LSU (5-0)
Tigers obviously didn't realize game vs. Tulane was 11 a.m. start. Next: vs. Florida.
3. CALIFORNIA (5-0)
Defense has to get a lot better if Golden Bears want to beat USC. Next: vs. Oregon State (Oct. 13).
4. OHIO STATE (5-0)
Are Buckeyes really fourth-best team in the country? Next: at Purdue.
5. WISCONSIN (5-0)
Badgers seemingly squeak by every week. Next: at Illinois.
6. USF (4-0)
Savor it, Bulls fans: Right now, USF is only unbeaten team in Florida. Next: at Florida Atlantic.
7. BOSTON COLLEGE (5-0)
B.C. didn't really look all that good in beating I-AA UMass. Next: Bowling Green.
8. OREGON (4-1)
