The Sun Devils rallied from a 19-point, first-quarter deficit to beat Oregon State 44-32. Rudy Carpenter threw for 361 yards and four TDs. Michael Jones caught two of the TD passes and finished with four catches for 124 yards. TB Ryan Torain ran for two scores and also had a TD catch. The Sun Devils came up with five interceptions. The Golden Bears scored 28 points in the first quarter and breezed to a 45-27 victory over Arizona. Justin Forsett rushed for 117 yards and two TDs to lead the offensive onslaught. Backup TBs Jahvid Best and James Montgomery also had rushing TDs. One negative: Cal was called for 14 penalties, for 121 yards. Next: Saturday, at Oregon.
QB Dennis Dixon continued his torrid play, throwing four TD passes and running for another score as the Ducks beat Stanford 55-31. Dixon threw for 367 yards, and Oregon finished with 589 total yards. The Ducks had two 100-yard receivers. The Ducks trailed 31-24 at halftime, then breezed past the Cardinal in the second half. Oregon also started 4-0 last season.

The Beavers built a 19-0 first-quarter lead but couldn't hold it and fell 44-32 at Arizona State. The Beavers outgained the Sun Devils 153-6 in the first quarter. QB Sean Canfield threw five interceptions, and Yvenson Bernard ran for 128 yards and a TD. The Beavers allowed four TD passes.

It was a tale of two halves for the Cardinal in a 55-31 loss to Oregon. The Cardinal led 31-24 at halftime, then got overpowered in the second half. It was the 15th loss in the past 18 games for Stanford. T.C. Ostrander threw for 264 yards and two TDs. Next: Saturday, vs. Arizona State.
After six lackluster quarters, the Bruins woke up and downed Washington 44-31. UCLA lost 44-6 to Utah last week and was tied at 10 at halftime with the Huskies before turning it on. The Bruins were helped by touchdowns on an interception return and a kick return. TB Chris Markey ran for 193 yards and a touchdown, and TB Khalil Bell rushed for 109 yards and another score. John David Booty threw for 279 yards and four TDs before sitting out much of the fourth quarter in a 47-14 dismantling of Washington State. TE Fred Davis had a big game, with nine catches for 124 yards and two scores. The Trojans had 509 yards of total offense. It was USC's 35th consecutive victory at home.

Jake Locker threw four TD passes, including three in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough as the Huskies fell 44-34 at UCLA. The Cougars couldn't stop USC's passing attack and lost 47-14 to the Trojans. USC threw four TD passes. The Cougars picked up five first downs on their first drive, then didn't get another until the third quarter.
