We can't figure out who first wrote or said, "There are only three seasons:
football, spring football and recruiting." But we hope whoever did is alive, well
and enjoying the unprecedented coverage Rivals.com has provided in "Spring Practice
Central '06."
You know we cover football, and you know we cover recruiting like no other.
This spring, though, we've been more prevalent than pollen.
We've sent staff members to Texas, Southern Cal, Notre Dame, LSU, West Virginia,
Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, Clemson, Georgia, Nebraska, Tennessee and Louisville.
That's not all. Are we done? Not even close.
It was another big football weekend, and that meant Rivals was on the road again. Our
writers took in the festivities at Ohio State, Florida and Penn State,
while our exclusive Spring Video Tour will be popping up at Boston College.
We've compiled our cornucopia of coverage here. Enjoy, and remember more is on the
way.
In Columbus, OSU quarterback Troy Smith was limited to one series of offense, but the senior made the most of it. Smith completed all four pass attempts as the Scarlet team scored the only touchdown of the day on the opening drive. After that, a young OSU defense took over by intercepting three passes from the backup QBs. Story:Young Bucks shine in Ohio State spring game
In Gainesville, freshman quarterback Tim Tebow stole the show. Florida's Tebow completed 15 of 21 passes for 197 yards and a touchdown to lead the Blue team past Chris Leak's Orange team, 24-6. Despite the impressive performance from the Tebow, Urban Meyer insisted Leak is still the man. Story:Tebow steals show at UF spring game
In Happy Valley, quarterback Anthony Morelli took a big step towards filling Michael Robinson's shoes. Morelli was 13-of-16 for 191 yards as the Blue team dropped the White team in PSU's spring game, 17-0. Jordan Norwood was also impressive with eight catches for 154 yards.
