Half of the 120 schools in the FBS ranks changed at least one coordinator this offseason. Forty-four schools made at least one coordinator change last season.
While 21 new coordinators came about because of new head coaches, 39 "sitting" coaches also made a change. Of those, some came about because the coordinator left to become a head coach -- such as Michigan State offensive coordinator Don Treadwell becoming coach at Miami (Ohio) -- and some came about because the coordinator left for what he thought was a better job -- such as Boise State offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin taking the same job at Texas.
