Record-setting quarterback Levi Brown graduated after last season, leaving Troy looking for a new starter this season.
Turns out, the Trojans went from one record-setter to another. Redshirt freshman Corey Robinson threw a national-record 91 TD passes (with just four picks) as a high school senior at Paducah (Ky.) Lone Oak in 2008, and he won Troy's starting job in fall drills. He threw for 3,339 yards and 24 TDs (with 15 interceptions) and guided the Trojans to a share of the Sun Belt title. His performance makes him the Rivals.com Sun Belt freshman of the year.
Our top freshman defender is Florida Atlantic defensive end Cory Henry, a true freshman from Miami Carol City who led the Owls and was tied for seventh in the league with five sacks. Three of his sacks came against Big Six opponents -- one each against Michigan State, Texas and USF. He also had 8.5 tackles for loss, three quarterback hurries and a forced fumble.
Rather then bypass some deserving candidates, we decided not to necessarily be position-specific (i.e., guards, tackles) on our offensive line on some of our all-freshman teams.
