Hawkeyes offer four-star Ohio prospect
Blair Sanderson
HawkeyeReport.com The Iowa Hawkeyes extended a scholarship offer this week to four-star defensive back Diauntae Morrow of Lakewood, Ohio. The 5-foot-11, 179-pound Morrow, who attends St. Edward High School, was part of the Ted Ginn, Sr. bus tour this month that visited camps at colleges around the Midwest, including the University of Iowa.
As a junior, Morrow lined up at outside linebacker for St. Edward, collecting 75 tackles and eight sacks during the 2005 season. A versatile athlete, the talented senior has experience at a number of positions on the defensive side of the ball and could play either safety or corner at the next level.
Currently, Morrow has written scholarship offers from Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, and Bowling Green. Other programs, such as Penn State, Purdue, Akron, Toledo, and Eastern Michigan have said they could offer soon.
Rivals.com ranks Morrow as a four-star prospect and the No. 15 safety in the nation this year.
